Frilled Dragon Cushion
Frills are back baby! Gone are the days of minimalism ruling the interiors roost, now is the time for maximalists to shine.
A Jim Thompson printed silk dragon adorns the front of this over-the-top beauty, framed lavishly by a generous frill made from a Designers Guild silk and backed in the same. You can enjoy this cushion either way around - it's not just inimitable, it's reversible!
Jim Thompson was an American designer and businessman who lived in Asia and is known for revitalising the Thai silk industry in the 1950s and 1960s. Time magazine even claimed he "almost singlehandedly" saved Thailands silk industry from extinction. He disappeared in when out for a walk in the Malaysian highlands in 1967 and the mystery of his disappearance has never been solved - but his legacy lives on through his design house which continues to produce beautiful silks and other furnishing fabrics to this day.
This cushion is 60cm x 40cm, plus the frill which is 6.5cm wide.
The price shown includes a luxurious ethical feather inner.
This is one example of the possibilities for customising cushions. Frills, fringing, poms poms, different shapes and sizes, wild and wonderful fabric combinations - anything is possible! Please check out The Couturier page if you would like to explore customising something amazing for your place.
